Roger Antonsen

In this talk you get a quick introduction to algorithmic art and many concrete examples of how to be creative and artistic by programming. We also look at how mathematical concepts can be visualized and communicated using animations, for example, permutations, prime numbers, fractions, and fractals.

Roger Antonsen is Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo, Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley, California, well-known TED speaker, author, artist, popular science communicator, and he has a PhD in computer science. He is the author of the university textbook «Logical methods: The art of thinking abstractly and mathematically», he is a mathematics columnist in Aftenposten, and runs the YouTube channel «Magic patterns». He has also won several awards for «best lecturer».
